Farlex Adds a Number of New Titles to TheFreeDictionary

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA, February 13, 2009 - Farlex, Inc., publisher of the world's most comprehensive database of online reference material, has announced the addition of a number of new titles to its flagship site, TheFreeDictionary.com. This latest release expands TheFreeDictionary's multilingual sector and enhances the site's medical, financial, computing, and idiom sections.

The Farlex team is committed to making TheFreeDictionary.com the best reference tool on the Web and does so by continuously adding to and updating the site's many educational offerings. Several new titles from a number of leading publishers, including Elsevier, Harper Collins, McGraw-Hill, RM, Cambridge University Press, and K Dictionaries, were recently added to the site. In addition, site content is constantly updated to reflect the newest information published by Farlex's partners. When several of TheFreeDictionary's sources recently released new editions of their reference material, the Farlex team quickly made the updates available to the site's users.

In 2008, Farlex made its initial foray into multilingual content hosting, adding foreign language resources to its flagship site for the first time. The intensely positive user response to those early foreign language titles encouraged the development team to further expand TheFreeDictionary's multilingual offerings. Farlex's ongoing partnership with K Dictionaries, a global leader in bilingual learner dictionaries and multilingual dictionaries, has helped make TheFreeDictionary's transition to a multilingual educational resource a success. Recently, a number of new titles from the K Dictionaries series were added to TheFreeDictionary's database, providing users with access to new and exciting multilingual content.

"Our dictionaries are user-oriented and stand on the forefront of computer-aided language learning," says Ilan Kernerman, CEO of K Dictionaries. "We are very pleased to be represented on TheFreeDictionary.com's remarkable site."

His sentiments were echoed by Steve Boymel, co-founder and executive vice president of Farlex, Inc. "Providing our users with an accessible, user-oriented, and engaging educational tool is an essential part of our mission at TheFreeDictionary.com, and the multilingual content from K Dictionaries helps us achieve that goal."

TheFreeDictionary.com debuted as a simple, free online dictionary catering to U.S. customers and has since evolved into one of the most authoritative reference sites on the Web, serving a global network of users. Today, the site offers access to multilingual dictionary content spanning more than 40 languages; computing, medical, legal, and financial dictionaries; a thesaurus; several encyclopedias; and much more.
